Seated female figure with arms crossed over her chest, Mali, 20th century Cast copper alloy. Dimensions: 21 × 19 × 16 cm. Sculpture depicting a woman kneeling on her heels, with her arms crossed over her chest, a symbol of motherhood, fertility, and ancestral respect. This type of figure was common in the artistic traditions of West Africa, especially among the cultures of present-day Mali, where it was linked to ancestor worship rituals. The surface has a natural patina that enhances its age and aesthetic value. Provenance: private collection. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer's statutory rights.
