The Virgin appears in an oval format, tenderly embracing the Child, in an intimate and maternal scene. Both faces gently lean forward in a gesture of affection, highlighting the Virgin's melancholic expressiveness. The dark background, the directed lighting, and the interplay of folds in the cloak emphasize the restrained drama. The composition and technical treatment reflect the aesthetics of Andalusian Baroque, particularly the Granada style of the mid-17th century, influenced by Alonso Cano. The frame, profusely decorated with plant motifs, reinforces the devotional nature of the piece. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions.
