Portrait of Emperor Theodosius in profile, Grand Tour School, 19th century Cast iron. Measures 17 cm in diameter. Circular relief depicting the profile of Emperor Theodosius, inspired by numismatic models and portraits from Roman antiquity. The face is presented with idealized features, curly hair, and a defined profile, following a sober and classical style. The modeling is precise and clear, emphasizing the historical and monumental character of the figure. These pieces, produced in the context of the Grand Tour, functioned as objects of cultural and scholarly evocation, integrating history, archaeology, and art in the 19th century. 17 cm Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions.
