Uderzo ALBERT UDERZO TANGUY Y LAVERDURE Por el honor de las escarapelas (T. 2), Dargaud 1962 Lámina original n.º 11 (numerada como 56 desde el inicio de la serie) basada en el guion de Jean-Michel Charlier, publicada previamente en Pilote n.º 45 del 1 de septiembre de 1960. Tinta china sobre papel 43,5 × 56,5 cm (17,13 × 22,24 pulgadas) Esta viñeta es excepcional por el clímax creado por Charlier: este último lleva a cabo uno de sus famosos giros argumentales. Aquí vemos a Laverdure como un excéntrico petulante, allí a Tanguy como un héroe de mármol, mientras descubrimos los últimos instantes de Saint-Hélier, joven piloto de caza e hijo de un aviador caído en combate, que apareció en el volumen anterior, *L'École des aigles*. Hélier, tras superar su miedo a volar, había sido el causante de la muerte accidental de su jefe. Aquí muere heroicamente, lo que le vale ser rehabilitado a título póstumo. El título y el tema del álbum encajan perfectamente en la línea patriótica impulsada en sus inicios por la revista semanal Pilote.
