1354 - Castilian agricultural cart, Spanish Popular School, 19th century

Castilian agricultural cart, Spanish Popular School, 19th century Carved and assembled wood with wrought iron fittings. An antique rural transport cart, originally used for agricultural work and pulled by animals, with an open structure and a rectangular platform supported by large spoked wheels. The piece is notable for the visual richness of its aged surfaces, where the erosion of the wood, natural cracks, and metallic oxidation create a complex historical patina of great aesthetic value. It retains traces of traditional polychromy applied to certain structural elements, adding chromatic nuances that enrich the folk character of the piece. The construction reveals a fully artisanal craftsmanship linked to the Spanish peasant tradition of the 19th century, where functionality and durability defined this type of utilitarian vehicle. The robustness of its forms, the honesty of its materials, and the strong ethnographic component make this cart an extraordinary testament to traditional rural culture and a decorative piece with a powerful visual presence.
