Saint Raphael the Archangel, attributed to Francesco Ingaldi, Neapolitan School, 18th Century Carved and polychromed wood. Dimensions: 57 x 27 cm. Saint Raphael the Archangel appears accompanied by the young Tobias, whom he guides with a protective gesture, pointing the way with his raised hand. At his feet is the fish, an iconographic attribute of the episode narrated in the Book of Tobit. The archangel wears flowing robes in shades of blue-green and gold, with large wings and a metallic glow, while the young man wears a red robe. The refined modeling of the faces, the movement of the folds, and the vibrancy of the polychromy are characteristic of 18th-century Neapolitan sculpture and allow the piece to be associated with the works attributed to Francesco Ingaldi. 57 x 27 cm.
