This work by the Italian painter Angelo Brombo depicts a lively market scene under the arcades of Chioggia. In the foreground, a woman is shown working with her baskets, partially enveloped by the shadow of a large stone archway, while in the background a luminous view of the market unfolds, with groups of figures, colorful sailboats moored along the canal, and the slender bell tower silhouetted against the sky.
