1194 - Important mythological tapestry made of wool. It depicts the scene of Alexander the Great's entry after the Battle of Gaugamela. Based on the work of Charles Le Brun (1619-1690), dated circa 1664. It features a border marked BB (Brussels-Brabant) and signed JLM or ILM. Possibly the work of Flemish workshops in Brussels, the signature suggests it may be a piece linked to the manufactures of the well-known Leyniers family, active mainly between the 17th and 18th centuries. 300 x 435 cm. Good condition. Some wear on the edges.
