IMPORTANTE ESTATUILLA DE LA GATA BASTET EN BRONCE Arte egipcio, época saíta, XXVI dinastía, 664-525 a. C. Hermosa y gran estatuilla de la diosa Bastet en su forma de gata, representada sentada sobre sus patas traseras, con las delanteras unidas y la cola curvada hacia delante, adornada en el cuello con la égida leontocéfala con cabeza de Sekhmet. La obra, de elegantes proporciones, presenta hermosos detalles naturalistas, en particular las orejas erguidas, finamente grabadas con estrías, y los ojos almendrados. Las orejas perforadas debían albergar un par de aros de oro, hoy desaparecidos. Altura: 28 cm (sin la espiga) Procedencia: Colección Charles Gillet (1879-1972), y posteriormente por herencia Un gato egipcio de bronce, Período de Saita, XXVI dinastía, 664-525 a. C.
