Arne Jacobsen (Copenhagen, 1902-1971) for Fritz Hansen Swan Chair, designed in 1958 for the lobby and lounge of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Featuring innovative technology: this chair is conceived without straight lines, only curves. It has a molded synthetic shell on a four-spoke aluminum swivel base, with a layer of cold foam covering the shell upholstered in brown leather. Jacobsen built the original in his own garage in Klampenborg, and it became an icon of Scandinavian design. The Swan has been in production at Fritz Hansen ever since. Labeled and branded.
