Lilian Iran - Hamadan Region, circa 1955–1965 Wool velvet on a cotton backing. Frayed edges. Midnight blue field decorated with scrolls of fine, crenellated strands twisted into stylized flowers and foliage in polychrome, framing a central floral medallion in pastel tones in the shape of a stylized diamond. Four ivory spandrels with motifs reminiscent of the central field. Triple borders, the main one in antique pink, decorated with rows of palmettes and scalloped leaves. Length: 156 cm. Width: 108 cm. (Signs of wear; frayed edges).
