CLOCK in the shape of a milestone featuring a bust of ASCLAPIUS, circa 1820 A patinated and gilded bronze clock in the shape of a milestone. The base depicts the Cup of Hygieia (daughter of Asclepius) and two facing serpents symbolizing health and medicine. Above this is a gilded bronze dial and a torus of oak leaves serving as a lunette; at the top is a patinated bronze bust of Asclepius. Paris-made movement, suspended by a wire. Condition report: found in an attic, loose mountings, requires complete restoration. Height: 44 cm. Length: 17.5 cm. Depth: 10.5 cm. Provenance: Manoir du Vally, Guingamp.
