BRETON (André). Ode to Charles Fourier. Paris: Revue Fontaine, [1947]. — In-4, 280 x 165: 41 pp., (3 ff., second blank), illustrated cover. Unbound, with a pasted-in cover. First edition published in the “L’Âge d’or” series, illustrated with black-and-white drawings created in New York by Frederick John KIESLER (1890–1965), including one on the cover. Limited edition of 1,060 copies; this one is one of the 175 “Marais crève-cœur” copies, signed by the author on the colophon (no. 9). A rare and valuable copy enhanced with an original lithograph signed by Kiesler, hand-colored by the artist, folded several times, and including an autographed fragment of the poem, signed by André Breton. This lithograph is usually part of the 35 first-edition copies on Holland paper. The copy is in very good condition.
