CHINA, second half of the 18th century. Two rectangular plates with cut corners, designed to be paired, made of blue-and-white porcelain and decorated with a rock with a hole through it and flowering shrubs; one features a bird. The wing is adorned with chrysanthemum bushes and a ribbon featuring four-leaf motifs within diamond shapes, punctuated by floral cartouches. Length: 37–37.5 cm – Width: 29–28.8 cm. Some firing defects and cracking, particularly on the wings; a small chip on the back of one dish; wear and scratches.
