168 - A young lord seated

A young lord seated in a hieratic posture, his hands resting on his upper knees. His body is robust and powerful, and his face bears a composed and serene expression, accentuated by large circular tambas covering his ears and an ovoid nasal ornament. This dignitary wears several stacked bracelets on his wrists, leg ornaments, and a rich necklace composed of rectangular pendants arranged in a fan shape. His head is covered by a helmet and features a ritual cranial deformation directed toward the back. Terracotta with traces of polychromy; the head and feet have been broken and reattached; restoration does not exceed approximately 10 to 15 percent of the work’s total mass.
