Udo PETERS (1884–1964), oil on cardboard, Summer Birch Avenue in a North German Landscape, 1954 An atmospheric landscape painting by the German artist Udo Peters (1884–1964), executed in oil on cardboard and signed and dated “Udo Peters 54” in the lower right corner. The painting depicts an idyllic country road lined with tall birch trees, stretching through a vast summer landscape. On the left, a narrow ditch runs alongside the road, while on the right, green meadows and fields stretch to the horizon. The sunlight filtering through the treetops creates a lively interplay of light and shadow on the road. The harmonious color palette of fresh greens, warm ochres, and delicate shades of blue and violet lends the work a pleasant atmosphere. The broad, expressive brushstrokes and the clear composition reveal Impressionist influences and underscore Peters’ characteristic approach to landscape painting. • Artist: Udo Peters (1884–1964)\ • Medium: Oil on cardboard\ • Subject: Summer birch-lined avenue with a country road and meadow landscape\ • Date: 1954\ • Signature: Signed and dated “Udo Peters 54” in the lower right\ • Framing: Dark, profiled wooden frame with a gold-colored inner molding Dimensions: 56 × 74 cm
