A Distinguished Shashka for an Honorable Officer USSR, circa 1930. Curved back blade with a double-edged tip. On one side, a beautiful gold-plated etching featuring blued floral cartouches, the Soviet coat of arms, and the inscription “??????????? ????? ?.?.?.?. ?? ?.?.?. ????” (“To the heroic fighter of the Red Workers’ and Peasants’ Army of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR”). The year “1930” and the manufacturer’s mark from Zlatoust / Slatoust are stamped on the blunt edge. On the reverse, in Cyrillic letters: CH H3 10 KP. The back of the blade bears the etched manufacturer’s designation “????. ???. ?????» (Zlatoust State Factory). Gold-plated brass sheath, with an applied, enameled miniature of the Order of the Red Banner. On the Order of the Red Banner: «?????????? ???? ?????, ????????????!” (“Workers of the world, unite!”). Grooved handle with black leather. Black-lacquered wooden scabbard with gilded, ornate brass fittings and a carrying ring. Guard featuring the Soviet state coat of arms. Length 95 cm, blade 81 cm. Very good quality, signs of age.
