Pair of tables; William IV, England, 19th century. Mahogany. One of the tables has a crack in the tabletop. They show signs of use and wear. Measurements: 75 x 53 x 53 cm (x2). Pair of side tables of elegant English craftsmanship, made of mahogany, with a rectangular top featuring gently chamfered corners and a perimeter molding ornamented with rope-and-twine carving.They feature a molded skirt and an architectural central shaft with a rectangular cross-section, divided into two sections by projecting moldings. The lower section is profusely decorated with neoclassically inspired floral carvings. They rest on a sculptural tripod base with curved legs and volute finials, adorned with carved plant motifs and beaded moldings. The decorative richness of the bases stands out, as do the hallmarks of contrast between the smooth surfaces of the mahogany and the elaborate ornamental carving. One of the tables has a crack in the tabletop. It exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
