Trökes, Heinz "Old Connections" Pen and ink in black on handmade paper. 1949. 33.7 x 21.5 cm. Signed "Trökes" and dated in pen and ink in black on the lower right; titled in pen and ink in blue on the reverse. Using dense lines, Trökes creates an ambiguous formation of interconnected fragments, in places suggesting facial features, between which spiderweb-thin lines of ink stretch. The artist playfully develops these complex, abstract structures, which appear to be undergoing a metamorphosis. Provenance: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia - Please request condition reports for the lots, as the condition is usually not specified in the catalog. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
