Hirsig, Stefan "There is no water at the bottom of the ocean" Acrylic on canvas. 2006. 80 x 90 cm. Signed "S. Hirsig" in black marker on the reverse, dated and titled. Interlocking forms and structures of undulating movement give rise to a dynamic, almost musically resonant composition by Berlin artist Stefan Hirsig. Their overlaps, intertwining, and relief-like, impasto sections lend this color-rich work depth and tension. Hirsig studied painting under Bernd Koberling at the Berlin University of the Arts beginning in 1988. Provenance: Private collection, Berlin - Please request condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
