Bauer, Rudolf Linear composition Pencil on semi-transparent sketch paper. Circa 1950. 27.8 x 21.5 cm. A line sweeps across the picture surface, meandering and establishing a relationship to the straight line in the center, which appears shadowy. In this drawing, created with the simplest of means, the harmony of contrasts illustrates one of the basic features of Bauer's non-objective compositions.
