Liebermann, Max Samson and Delilah Etching on handmade paper. 1906. 21.5 x 28.7 cm (35.9 x 45.9 cm). Signed "MLiebermann" and inscribed "Probedruck" (proof). Schiefler 55 a (of b). One of the proofs mentioned by Schiefler, produced prior to the individual prints and the publication in the portfolio *Max Liebermann: Seven Etchings*, edited by Bruno Cassirer and Julius Bard in 1909. Liebermann created another, less light and delicate variation of the motif in the same year (Schiefler 54).
