Date: 2000 Description: Watercolor on joined, handwritten paper pages from the 18th century. This painting was created by Sabine Frank (born 1956) of Nuremberg. An Italian loaf of bread is depicted in full on an 18th-century sheet of paper written in brown pen (dated 1779). According to the inscription on the reverse, the artist painted and ate the depicted loaf in March 2000. BIOGRAPHY: Born in Nuremberg in 1956. 1978–84: Studied painting, art history, and theater studies at the University of Munich. 1984–87: Goldsmith apprenticeship with Peter Maciuga. 1987: Received her diploma. Lived and worked from 1988 to 1990 in Gargnano, Italy and Munich; from 1992 to 93 in San Rocco a Pilli / Siena and Munich; from 1994 to 99 in Cassagnes and Labastide du Vert / France; and since 1999 in Villa/Gargnano, Italy, and Munich. Since 2001, has been producing and installing projects in the premises of a former grocery store in Villa/Gargnano. Co-founder of the artist group La Tenda Rossa.
