Anonymous Spheres Tempera, scraped, on cardboard. 29.5 x 34.5 cm. A spiritual journey, viewed through the mind or experienced through the soul: Cosmic lights, prismatically refracted into the delicate colors of the rainbow, shimmer as they take shape into cloudy, spherical formations that mistily interpenetrate and envelop one another. Shapes and colors from a supernatural world float around one another with enchanting fluidity, seeming to unite and separate from one another in a spatial ambivalence. The transparency and fluidity of the spiritual spheres permeate the composition, which appears to have emerged from an imaginative vision. A technically masterful drawing from the collection of the Viennese “Prince of Painters,” Ernst Fuchs.
