Echtermeyer, Curt Woman in a Black Dress Pastel chalks on handmade paper. 62.8 x 49 cm. Signed in white chalk with the artist’s monogram in the lower left corner. Confidently facing the viewer, the woman in the black dress is one of the sophisticated figures in Curt Echtermeyer’s oeuvre. With her heavily made-up eyes, red lips, and hair pinned up, she appears both elegant and artificial. The exaggerated forms and the almost mask-like physiognomy lend her a peculiar blend of seduction and aloofness. Provenance: Artist’s estate Private collection, Southern Germany - Please request condition reports for the lots, as the condition is only listed in the catalog in exceptional cases. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
