2322 - UMBERTO ASGANO. "Galaxy" seating set by Giorgetti. Italy, 1980s. Consisting of a two-seater sofa, two matching armchairs, and a coordinating side table. A striking and rare postmodern furniture ensemble by the Italian manufacturer Giorgetti. The “Galaxy” series captivates with its architectural lines and the high-contrast interplay between cool, textured frame surfaces and supple leather upholstery. The sofa’s striking blue leather accent underscores the playful yet elegant character of Italian design from this era. Solid wood frame with a characteristic gray/gray-green lacquer or stain finish. Seat and back surfaces upholstered in coral-red leather. The rear cylindrical roll/back cushion of the sofa is upholstered in contrasting blue leather. Round side table on an architectural, stepped base made of correspondingly lacquered wood with an inlaid, satin-finished Glass top. Dimensions (sofa): Approx. H 80 cm, W 130 cm; table: H 57 cm, D 57 cm. Good, aged overall condition with light to normal signs of wear on the finish and leather upholstery. NOT SUITABLE FOR SHIPPING—PICKUP ONLY!
