2308 - LEONARDO FERRARI & FRANCO MAZZUCCHELLI. “Platea” table lamp; manufacturer: Artemide, Pregnana Milanese, ca. 1970. White opal glass, partially frosted, with a lacquered metal base. A flat, circular lamp body with a minimalist, disc-like design resting on a cylindrical base. The design of the “Platea” impresses with its harmonious blend of geometric precision and the soft, diffused light effect of the large opal glass shade. The design is one of the defining examples of Italian lighting design from the 1970s and strikes a perfect balance between a functional light fixture and a sculptural presence. Dimensions: approx. H 37 cm, Ø 46 cm. Very good, well-maintained original condition with slight signs of age and wear.
