Chodowiecki, Daniel Nikolaus Half-timbered house on the Wegrain with a garden gate and a plank fence. Pencil on handmade paper, mounted in an old frame. 11 x 17.9 cm. Inscribed in pen on the mount: “D. Chodowiecki fec.” Early handwriting (fragment). When compared to the drawing of a farmhouse dated 1759 (Cat. Veste Coburg, Art Collections, No. 1 with ill.), our sheet may have been created just as early, around 1750. Provenance: Collection of Adalbert Freiherr von Lanna, Prague (Lugt 2773).
