A. Rebora, Genoa | Handcrafted Sovereign 42x56mm Camera Estimate: €4,000–5,000 Year: 1999 Condition: A- English: Handcrafted Italian wide-angle roll-film camera, made by A. Rebora, Genoa, in polished brass and mahogany and fitted with a Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Angulon MC 5.6/47 mm, no. 14,476,493 with a special cap. Designed for 120 roll film, it produces 16 exposures in the unusual 42 × 56 mm format. The camera features an external frame finder, spirit levels, and a Leitz FOCOS rangefinder. Of particular note is the hand-engraved internal inscription identifying the camera as the “primo esemplare” (first example), made in December 1999 for Dr. M. Bertacchi, and specifying the format, film capacity, and field of view. An extraordinary and apparently unique example of A. Rebora’s Sovereign 42 × 56, combining traditional mahogany and polished brass craftsmanship with a modern Schneider Super-Angulon wide-angle lens. It is in perfect, never-used condition.
