31 - DOCUMENTS. “Louis, by the grace of God, King of France and Navarre. ”—Letter patent on vellum for Pierre JOUHANEAU LAREGUÉRE, lieutenant colonel, retired commander of arms, Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1818, dated August 31, 1819, during the reign of Louis XVIII, with the coat of arms painted as follows: “Azure, a silver yoke; a chief Or, charged with a laurel wreath Vert, crossed by two swords in saltire, Sable.” Preserved in its sheet-iron case, with a green wax seal depicting King Louis XVIII in majesty. Included is an imperial decree appointing the holder to the presidency of the canton of Sainte-Foy, in the municipal district of Libourne (Gironde), issued at Tilsit on June 20, 1807. BE
