A unique devotional piece of jewelry from the mid-20th century, featuring a half-length figure of the Virgin carved from bone, set within an elaborate gold setting with curved, enveloping forms. The composition is enhanced with platinum accents and rock-cut diamonds, which add contrast and luminosity to the piece. The piece combines the tradition of private religious jewelry with the ornamental style characteristic of the 1940s and 1950s, when yellow gold took on a special prominence in voluminous designs with a striking visual presence.
