Signed in pencil below the image on the right, “Kalckreuth the Younger,” and inscribed in the center, “First State.” Depicted is Bertha Countess Yorck von Wartenburg, the artist’s wife. A magnificent print with a clay-wiped finish and a wide margin. Slight signs of age and handling, with delicate fingerprints; otherwise in very good condition.
