Thirteen color-illustrated covers by Jean VEBER, including twelve for the installments comprising the work and one collective cover, & 98 illustrations, some full-page or double-page spreads. ONE OF THE TEN FIRST-EDITION COPIES ON JAPAN PAPER reserved for Mrs. Melet, this one being No. 2. Copy enhanced with ONE ORIGINAL SIGNED DRAWING by the artist & ONE HANDWRITTEN LETTER from the artist regarding the shipment of original drawings (March 3, 1906). Ex-libris printed on an unidentified loose leaf. Spine very slightly faded.
