Small Bradel quarto, ivory half-vellum, spine decorated with a gilded crowned monogram (Lemardeley). [VIII] + 229 + [XI] pp. (with pagination errors) signed: á4, A-M4, M*4, N-O4, O*2, P-Z4, Aa-Ff4, é4. FIRST EDITION of this first part (the only one published) of this description in verse of 112 paintings or drawings by various artists that Scudéry claims to have owned. An engraved frontispiece title page attributed to CHAUVEAU. From the library of G. J. Guerrier, with a wet stamp on the title page (repeated on the verso of the last leaf); an old handwritten number and another wet stamp on the title page. Slight water stains and a small tear in the lower corner of the frontispiece (restored with the date re-established); a few pencil annotations in the text.
