Certificate for Citizen Michel Leclerc, “Brigadier Gendarme of the 35th Division, known as the Conquerors of the Bastille, formerly the Mailfert Company,” who “behaved as a zealous Republican and a brave soldier throughout the time he fought against the rebels of the Vendée ”; he was wounded on September 14 during the Battle of Doué “by a gunshot to his left hand. This brave Republican deserves that the Republic take an interest in his fate.”
