Aix-en-Provence September 15, 1949: "Dear friend, In summer I received your card from Belle-Isle (...) I know the nooks and crannies, caves and reefs (...) which I love very much! the wild coast. I've been working on my drawings and pastels there ... "Aix-en-Provence September 26, 1949: "Dear friend, Three times thank you: for the Derain, for the colors, for your letter. Your essay on Derain is quite remarkable (...)
