This item is an original copperplate-engraved antique map titled Turkey in Europe and Hungary, engraved by the British cartographer and publisher William Darton Jr. It was published in London in 1802 for An Atlas to Walker's Geography and Gazetteer. The map highlights the expansive region of the Ottoman Empire extending into Southeastern Europe (the Balkans) alongside the Kingdom of Hungary. It details historical territories such as Wallachia, Moldavia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, and Greece, stretching across to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.Topographic Elements: Features high density regional details including major cities (such as Constantinople and Buda), mountain ranges, and river networks represented via traditional hachure and pictorial engraving techniques.
