The book contains twelve different stories, each told in verse, about a family of anthropomorphic elephants, i.e., the Grays, and the adventures that they have. Each story is illustrated with a full page chromolithograph; these twelve chromolithographs are beyond beautiful and make this one of the really great pictures for children.
