1213 - 17th-Century Flemish School - Corpus Christi

17th-Century Flemish School - Corpus Christi Wood. Dimensions: 130 × 115 × 26 cm. A devotional sculpture carved from wood depicting the body of Christ on the cross, retaining traces of its original polychromy. The work belongs to the Flemish sculptural tradition, characterized by restrained naturalism, meticulous anatomical detail, and a sober expressiveness intended to foster religious contemplation. The monumentality of the figure, combined with the patina of age and the chromatic vestiges, reinforces its historical and devotional character, originally conceived for a liturgical or parish context.
