Provenance: The dress was purchased directly from Paco Rabanne in his private office on Rue du Cherche-Midi in Paris by Maurice Debeaupte, his wife, and a young woman, following a presentation and fitting of several designs. The purchase of the two dresses was funded by the Union des Bijoutiers Normands so that they could be worn at an event held at the Parc des Expositions in Caen, where the two young women were tasked with welcoming the public. Documented by four original period photographs, some of which show the owner wearing the dress during the event at the Union des Bijoutiers Normands booth.
