182 - André ROUSSIN [Marseille 1911–1987], successful playwright and director, member of the Académie française) / Signed autograph card, 2 pages, oblong in-12 format, on letterhead bearing his address in Saint-Tropez (Le Mas du Pinet): "My secretary will send you the text of the scene to be published from Paris. I’ve kept it fairly short (5 typed pages) so it won’t be cut. Since this scene forms a complete whole (and is almost a sketch), it would be best to publish it in its entirety. I’m counting on you for this. Here is a brief summary of the play’s plot. A writer who suffers one failure after another but attaches no importance to it as long as he writes what he pleases is deeply despised by his wife, who expected nothing but glory from her husband…” [“Les Glorieuses,” a two-act play in verse, premiered in 1960 at the Théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris, starring Elvire Popesco]
