Marbled calfskin of the period, spine with gilded floral decorations on raised bands, edges mottled with red (a few very slight splits in the joints, missing pieces at some caps, slight wear, a few wormholes, a few rounded corners). First edition of Volumes III through VIII; second edition of Volumes I and II. Illustrated with 811 (of 812) numbered plates, including Plates 29*, 29**, and 64* in vol. III, plate 45* in vol.
