First published in the 6th part of the "De Nieuwe Groote Ligtende Zee-Fakkel," containing the charts concerning navigation in East Asian waters, which for a long time required a certain degree of secrecy. In 1753, maps from the so-called “Secret Atlas of the V.O.C.” were finally published in print. This map depicts the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, including, among others, Borneo, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, and parts of the Philippines. Ref.
