ENRICO TROCONI (Italy, active between 1960 and 1970) for Vistosi. “Bamboo” floor lamp, Italy, 1970s. Blown glass and white metal rings. It has a visible crack in the upper section. No liability is assumed, nor is any warranty offered regarding the electrical components. Measurements: 129 x 31 cm (diameter). A floor lamp with a distinctly sculptural character, made of lacquered and chrome-plated metal, with a shade composed of overlapping sections of white opal glass separated by metal rings. Its streamlined silhouette, inspired by the segmented structure of bamboo, combines geometry, verticality, and careful light diffusion, making the lamp a focal point of the interior space. The model reflects the formal experimentation characteristic of Italian design in the 1970s, when lighting took on an architectural and decorative dimension. The combination of traditional Murano opal glass with metallic details strikes a balance between the warmth of the light, industrial precision, and visual lightness. Vistosi’s history dates back to the origins of Murano’s glassmaking tradition, with documented references to the Gazzabin family dating back to 1585. After centuries of artisanal craftsmanship, Guglielmo Vistosi reopened a factory in Murano in 1945, and his descendants, Gino and Luciano, drove the company’s specialization in lighting, making blown glass the cornerstone of an increasingly modern production process. During the 1960s and 1970s, the firm collaborated with prominent designers and architects, including Gae Aulenti, Angelo Mangiarotti, Ettore Sottsass, and Vico Magistretti. It has a visible crack in the upper section. No liability is assumed, nor is any warranty provided, for the electrical components.
