Österreichisch-Krainischer Meister des 17. Jahrhunderts Austrian-Carniolan School 17th century Portrait of a Mother and Daughter Oil on canvas (relined). 90.5 x 75 cm. Dated upper left (right and left of the coat-of-arms): 1662. Provenance Private collection, northern Germany. A very similar portrait of Anna Elisabeth Countess von Auersperg (1632–1694), née von Moscon, is now in the Posavje Museum Brežice in Slovenia. Both portraits could quite plausibly be by the same painter, who would therefore be situated in the region which is now Slovenia, where the Auersperg and Moscon families held estates. There are also similarities with the portrait of Katarina Lukančič in the Narodna galerija in Ljubljana, which is now attributed to Janez Frančišek Gladič (1635–1663).
