A GROUP OF FOUR ENGLISH ENAMEL BOXES, SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE, LATE 18TH CENTURY comprising a circular Sheffield Plate box enamelled to the cover with a house by a river surrounded by honeysuckle on a blue ground, the base stamped with a Rococo cartouche, 4.2cm diameter; an oval pale blue patch box transfer printed with a sailing ship below the legend 'A Trifle from BATH', bead border, metal mounts hinged to short side, mirror to interior; a moulded circular pink patch box with a memorial urn, beaded border, metal hinge mounts, mirror to interior; and a moulded oval green patch box, 'A Trifle from SALISBURY', metal hinge mounts Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, St John's Wood, London ; the Sheffield Plate box and cover ex Christie's, London, 25 July 1972, lot 35
