Engraving of Jacopo Pighi by Martial Desbois 1682. This line engraving of Jacopo Pighi (IACOBVS PIGHI, VERON. PRIM. ANATOMIAE PROF. HORTI PRAEF.), a professor of anatomy and director of the botanical garden in Verona was engraved by Martial Desbois around 1682. Preserved in collections such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Wellcome Collection it depicts Pighi within an oval frame with a clerical or academic collar, long flowing 17th-century curly hair, academic robes, and a crest/coat of arms at the base. Size: 11cm x 13cm Excellent condition - please review the images carefully for any age-related marks
