The ranks of the officers arriving from the Crimea are unfair to the others… I have hardly given any thought to settling in Cherchell; I am still moving from camp to camp, wandering like the Wandering Jew. Please convey my respectful regards to Mrs. BOCQUET, and as for you, my dear friend, please accept the expression of my unwavering affection.”
