Vignette: “Department of the Basses-Alpes; The Nation, the Law, and the King.” ” In 12 articles: “Article 1) “The public prosecutor of each district shall immediately compile a list of thirty citizens who meet the qualifications required to be voters, to serve as jurors in criminal cases. This list shall be approved by the District Directory and sent to each of its members and to the court; it shall be renewed every three months. 2°) The eight citizens selected by lot from the list of thirty to form the grand jury shall be required to appear on the day set for the grand jury’s session… under penalty of a fine of thirty livres and deprivation of the right to vote and to hold office for two years… ” Poster (50 x 42 cm)
