Original A Sirooni Inc, New York gouache Art Deco design c1920-50. An original Art Deco design sample created for the celebrated A. Sirooni Company of New York, dating from the 1920s–1950s founded by Alice Sirooni. These elegant original designs of abstract, geometric and floral motifs were preliminary studies for the screens used in printing fine patterned silks and decorative papers. Produced primarily in France on commission for Sirooni New York, many of the artists behind these designs were Parisian creatives immersed in the flourishing Art Deco movement and influenced by progressive European workshops such as the Wiener Werkstätte. Each design was originally hand-rendered in gouache before being mounted onto embossed presentation cards bearing the A. Sirooni company embossed seal.
